What is Delta-8?

Many people seek out THC for the numerous benefits that it provides. You might ask what is the difference between Delta-8 THC and Delta-9 THC and how is it legal?

Delta-8 provides a much easier experience than its more potent Delta-9 THC relative. Both have psychoactive properties, however, Delta-8 is less intimidating and can be a great way to relax. Most users feel a sense of calm and clarity. Many have reported a definite “high” to the experience, but not enough to impair their ability to function.

So how is it legal if it contains THC?

According to the Kentucky Farm Bill, any hemp derived compound containing less than .03 Delta-9 THC is legal. CBD is a compound derived from hemp that contains no Delta-9 THC and is therefor legal. However, extraction experts found a way to modify CBD into a less potent form of THC called Delta-8. This is done by naturally rearranging its molecules using an isomer. The result is a cannabinoid with less intense effects that remains compliant with the Kentucky farm bill.

Endocannabinoid System (ECS)

Discovered in the 1990s, the Endocannabinoid system is made up of receptors throughout the body. The ECS regulates many physiological processes like metabolism, sleep, digestion, mood and memory. Research shows ECS receptors respond to two forms of cannabinoids.

Endocannabinoids
Cannabinoids our body makes

Phytocannabinoids
Cannabinoids from hemp

The human body naturally produces endocannabinoids, however hemp derived phytocannabinoids may improve the way your brain’s receptors communicate with each other. These receptors are tiny proteins attached to brain cells which facilitate the cells ability to respond to different stimuli.

Scientists are still learning how the ECS works but research seems to indicate that daily use of Cannabinoids from hemp may improve your well being.
